玉石について：
はるか縄文時代より、人々は太陽はじめ、生命が芽吹く趣旨などを想起させるまるいものに思いや振興を寄せてきました。丸玉石もそのひとつです。もともと巨大な岩石は自然崇拝の対象であり、”イワクラ”として聖地となっていった背景があります。自然石の大小さまざまな丸玉石を祀って道祖神としたり、祠の御神体とした地域も多くあります。
A round stone with a shape that gives the sense of wanting to touch with an attachment or familiarity. After examining Daté Kan Stone pebble, the expression was polished, hollowing the interior, and made into a container. It can be used as an on-hand memorial item for storing the scriptures and the bones of passed relatives and loved ones. The round stone standing still indoors reflects the desire of people to return to nature, which has continued since ancient times.
About the round stone:
Since the Jomon period, people have thought and encouraged the sun and other round objects reminiscent of the purpose of life - and the pebble is one of them. Originally, huge rocks were a subject of nature worship, and had the background as a sacred place as “iwakura”. There are many areas where various stones, large and small, of natural stone, are enshrined as Dososhin (traveler’s guardian deity).
